My biggest impression of the East District is ‘lights’, because there are a lot of shops here, and it’s a lively place at night, where there are so many and dazzling lights. When you see the lights here, you will think that here is not only a lot of shops but also a lot of people, it is very lively. So I used the technique of reverse appliqué to stitch together a lot of fabrics of different kinds and colours , and cut them layer by layer to show the vision and feeling of the'light' with different layers, colors and senses. I chose the red and yellow fabrics and foil are stacked, which all show how I feel about the lights. The gauze I dyed on the first layer is to show the feeling of being crowded and full of the whole street. Next, I use stitching to present the houses and crowds in the East District . This is the first time I use foil for stitching, the results were unexpected. I really like the refraction presented by the foil, which shows a good "light perception".
